The Single Thread is a timed focus method for staying with one meaningful task long enough to make visible progress.

Not focus as strain.

Focus as continuity—the ability to hold one thing, notice when attention has left, and return before the thread is lost.

Through five deliberate steps, the method guides you to:

• choose one clearly defined task
• decide what “enough” will mean for the session
• select an interval you can realistically protect
• notice distractions without following them
• close the session with a visible point of return

The aim is not perfect concentration. Distractions will still appear.

The practice is learning not to let every interruption become a new direction.
